• the so-called splash – the first phase of water erosion;
• solubilisation of bioactive compounds of plant origin;
• stability of colloidal systems (e.g., microemulsion);
• stability of soil colloids in aqueous suspensions;
• surface properties of microorganisms identified on the basis of measurements of size distribution and electrokinetic potential (zeta);
• possibilities of using two-dimensional images obtained by optical microscopy for evaluation of three-dimensional particles, e.g. sand grains; 
• development of a Polish Standard project of determination of particle size distribution with the laser diffraction method.
